CHANGE IS A PROCESS, NOT AN EVENT

National experts and local innovators in health care, policy and public health invite your voice to the discussion at Grand Junction’s inaugural Health Care Innovation Symposium.

HISTORY OF INNOVATION

Forty-five years ago, physicians and business leaders in Grand Junction started a first-of-its-kind community health plan to ensure that all population groups had access to the finest care in the area, including any specialist or hospital regardless of insurance.

Innovation followed, beginning with simple programs aimed at shoring up the first domino to prevent cascading health problems such as a down payment for housing, travel to the hospital or a reminder to take a prescription.

The commitment to innovation continued throughout the local health care ecosystem. In 2009, Grand Junction’s reputation for high quality, affordable care focused on the patient drew a visit from the sitting President of the United States to laud its success.

SETTING GOALS AS A COMMUNITY

This community knows that when we announce a goal, we hit it. The ultimate objective is to coalesce around 3 to 5 attainable goals for the community that will make a material difference in health outcomes here. Two keynote speakers, subject matter experts and breakout sessions will help local stakeholders of all kinds to come together on ways we make a difference.
